Wet Electrostatic Precipitator Anode Tube
Product Overview
The anode tube is the core collecting electrode component of a wet electrostatic precipitator. It is usually formed into a hexagonal honeycomb tube bundle, providing a large grounded surface for charged particles and mist droplets to migrate, deposit and be removed.
In WESP operation, flue gas passes through the anode tube channels while a high-voltage discharge electrode generates corona discharge. Dust, PM2.5, acid mist, tar mist, oil mist, SO₃ mist and condensable aerosols become charged, migrate to the anode tube wall, and are captured on the inner surface. A circulating water or process liquid film continuously washes the collected pollutants into the drain, preventing secondary dust emission and maintaining stable electric field performance.
Why Honeycomb Hexagonal Anode Tubes
High space utilization: hexagonal tubes are closely arranged, providing a large collecting area within a compact WESP footprint.
Uniform electric field: regular tube geometry supports stable corona discharge and consistent particle collection.
Efficient wet flushing: smooth inner walls help form a continuous water film, reducing tar, salt or dust buildup.
Modular scalability: anode tubes can be assembled into tube bundles or complete anode modules according to gas volume and installation space.
Material flexibility: available in 304, 316L and 2205 stainless steel to match different corrosion levels and service life requirements.
Structure & Working Principle
Hexagonal honeycomb tube: each tube acts as an independent gas channel and grounded collecting surface.
Tube bundle assembly: multiple tubes are fixed by upper and lower frames, stiffening plates and flange connections.
Cooperation with discharge electrode: the discharge electrode is suspended inside or between anode tubes to generate corona discharge.
Wet flushing system: circulating liquid washes captured pollutants from the tube wall, keeping the surface clean and maintaining collection efficiency.

FAQ
What is the function of a WESP anode tube?
The anode tube serves as the grounded collecting electrode. Charged particles and mist droplets migrate to its inner wall and are removed by wet flushing.
Why are hexagonal honeycomb tubes commonly used?
Hexagonal tubes provide high collecting area, uniform electric field distribution and compact module layout, making them suitable for large-scale WESP systems.
How to choose between 304, 316L and 2205 anode tubes?
304 is suitable for low-chloride, mildly corrosive gas; 316L is preferred for wet desulfurization and acid mist environments; 2205 is recommended for high-chloride, high-humidity or severe corrosion conditions.
Can the anode tube be customized?
Yes. Tube diameter, length, wall thickness, material grade and bundle configuration can be customized according to project flue gas conditions and installation requirements.
